Happy 4th with family and loved ones! We are officially half way through this amazing year! Can you believe it? Just last week around this time I got the call that I would be the last official featured artist of season 9 on the JoyFM and had not idea two dreams and goals I had from last year would simultaneously become a reality! After years of singing, ministering, writing and just doing whatever my hands find to do, it seems like God just saw it was time for His daughter to get a breakthrough.
Although doors have been opening over the years, it feels like every time I would take a step forward, I would take two steps backward. Have you ever felt like that? As though you are not making much progress because of all the backtracking that happens in this journey of life!? Nevertheless, I just kept putting one foot in front of the other, kept moving forward, kept writing, kept singing, kept answering the calls, kept walking through open doors and just knew in time, if I did not give up I would end up just where I needed to be and where God intended.
What seems like quantum leaps forward is actually years of writing the vision and making it plain! The vision would later be manifested when the time is right. I am thankful for people like Benji and Tiffini who God used to manifest a portion of my dreams just when I needed the reminder that I am in His will and my labor is not in vain. God uses people to remind us we are on the right track and that the work we offer up to Him is not in vain. I hope to be that person for you today, to remind you, God listens, he hears your prayers and your labor is not in vain. Even on this day of celebrating freedom that is not cheap nor free, we can be thankful for those who came to terms with the fact that their labor is not in vain. They fought the good fight so we can some day fight to realize the dreams we have for a purpose. As some of the lyrics of "I am Fearless" sings: "I have a purpose, I will keep fighting, I know all things are working for my good!"
