This month we celebrate three years of Metro Bike Share in LA! On July 7, 2016, Metro and the City of Los Angeles took the first pedal strokes towards transforming the mobility landscape in Los Angeles with the launch of 60 Metro Bike Share stations in Downtown Los Angeles.

Today, the Metro Bike Share system features over 1000 bikes and over 130 stations across Los Angeles County in Central and Downtown LA, the Westside and the Port of LA. Commuters, leisure seekers, and visitors across the county continue to use Metro Bike Share to get to work, grab their coffees, make their train, and see their city in a fun, kinetic and green way.

Here are some of the milestones Metro Bike Share riders have reached collectively since we've launched:
  • 🚴 Miles Biked: 2,347,428
  • 🔥 Calories Burned: 57,147,865
  • ⬇️ Emissions Reduced (Pounds of CO2): 2,230,057
* Data is based on estimation using trip duration and origin/destination location.
We literally would not have reached these milestones without you and we're thankful for every mile biked and every calorie burned as we continue to reshape transportation in LA for the future!

Explore OaxaCalifornia with LACBC, Metro Bike Share and Metro BEST

Join Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition (LACBC) and Metro Bike Share on Sunday, July 14 for a bi-lingual ride focused on Mexican-American culture and history while riding on the ever-improving downtown LA bike infrastructure, sponsored by Metro's Bicycle Education Safety Training (BEST) Program. Learn about the history of LA and its cross-cultural relationship with the Southern Mexican State of Oaxaca. Find out how Oaxaqueño culture, cuisine, and communities have permeated LA's culture. The ride will culminate at a celebration at Ballet Folklorico Nueva Antequera’s celebration of Oaxaqueño dance, culture, and traditions hosted at LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes— the Mexican-American museum and community center.

Metro Bike Share will make a limited number of bikes available (free of charge) for participants without bikes. Bikes must be reserved in advance and all riders must sign a waiver. If you are interested in this option, please reserve a bike ticket when you register.
