Blackpool Teaching Hospitals seeks nine new Governers

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (BTH) is seeking candidates for nine Public Governor positions within various constituencies across the catchment area and wants to hear from
as many people as possible who are interested in having their say on how healthcare should be provided locally. The elections will be held in August 2019.

Membership of the Foundation Trust doesn’t cost anything, and there are numerous benefits for the Trust and the local community alike.

Applications can be received via the website, by post or by telephone.  In order to be eligible to stand for election you will need to have joined by Monday 22 July 2019, the close of nominations. Find out more on BTH's website.

Brighten someone's day by sending a postcard to a local care home

People across Lancashire are being encouraged to do their bit to help reduce loneliness amongst older people this summer - simply by sending a postcard.

Postcards for Kindness was initially piloted by Lancashire County Council in Summer 2018 as a way to help reduce loneliness in care home residents across the county. The project was such a success that it was adapted for the festive season and saw hundreds of people sending Christmas cards to their local care homes. Now the campaign has been launched for its second year with more than 100 care homes signed up to take part this year. Find out more here.
