Scientists at Flinders University in Australia claim to have created the first artificial intelligence-designed flu vaccine.

The vaccine contains an extra component able to stimulate the human immune system to make more antibodies against the flu virus than a normal vaccine.

Facebook has disclosed the open source release of DLRM, an advanced AI model for providing personalised results in production environments.

Facebook hopes this will lead to further algorithmic experimentation, modelling, system co-design, and benchmarking of recommendation engines.

Chicago-based startup Aegis AI has raised $2.2 million in a venture capital funding round led by Bling Capital.

The company uses artificial intelligence to identify firearms in security camera video feeds.

Tara AI has raised a $10 million Series A investment led by Aspect Ventures with participation from Slack and previous investors.

Tara.ai takes the data that enterprise companies already have thanks to their project management systems and use it to predict how to best build new software.
