Dear Members and Friends of the Swiss Club WA
We are getting close to 1st August very fast, so it’s time to move fast too.
Sunday 21 July 2019 I ask you to come to Gidge to help set up for our celebration on Saturday 3 August 2019. More wood for the bonfire is needed, setting up the shelter etc.etc. and just have a good day out in general. Bratwurst and Cervelats will be provided for the helpers and perhaps a good hot soup.
Now to our National Day Celebration on 3 August 2019
We plan to serve Heisse Fleischchäs and Heisse Schinke (supplied by our trusted Swiss Butcher). Our young people will serve (Bossert and Villemin kids - they promised) and I will prepare the usual salads: potato, celeriac (if available, otherwise beetroot), carrot and green salads, with my homemade salad sauce. You will bring – as usual – a contribution to a fantastic Dessert Buffet. The Alphorn Players will play for us and I hope they have the notes to the National Anthem, so we can sing along
The cost will be as follows:
Children up to 6 years: Gold Coin $
Children up to 15 years of age: 10$ (Ten Dollars)
Upwards of 15 years of age: 25$ (Twenty-five Dollars)
To be paid at the event, CASH ONLY
In order to have an idea of attendance, please send me how many of you will come and confirm that you will bring a dessert. So far I have 120 (solid, good sized) plates and cutlery. I don’t mind buying more
In order to keep the Club’s E-Mail from overflowing please send your info to ruthclairange@gmail.com

NEWS
Rita Zeller has been made an Honorary Member of the Club at the EGM held on 25 May 2019. She and her late husband David have done untiringly for the club for many many years, as long as I can remember (since 1980).
The Resolution from this Meeting was sent to the Department of Mines on 22 June 2019. When we receive the OK from the Department we will inform you.

Our long-time member Pius Schmidiger died on 2 June 2019. Our condolences to all his family. The remembrance day held for him in Toodyay Road on Sunday 23 June was lovely and well attended. Thank you for inviting.

And some news from the Swiss Club of Victoria:
Expression of interest (EOI)

Situated amongst some of Melbourne’s finest restaurants in Flinders Lane, the Swiss Club Restaurant, auspiced by the Swiss Club of Victoria (SCV) has been operating successfully, on the first floor, since 1973 servicing SCV members and the general public. The restaurant offers a bar with booth seating as well as a formal dining area, with a capacity of 80 seats a la carte and up to 110 for functions.

The Swiss Club committee is currently seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced restaurateurs to manage the Swiss restaurant as of 2020. A tender document will be available in July / August.
