The Rundown - Round 5 at Sandown

The Rundown

Well Sandown's conditions were better than that on the Gold Coast on Saturday! We had four teams contesting the Sandown Road Relays ('cause, well, lots of you were in fact on said Gold Coast) but we performed strongly.

Our Open division teams spanned the spectrum of ages at Sandown. Thank you so much to Jaron, Heidi and Megan who stepped up to the two lap event to fill these teams. It is worthwhile noting that a lot of mature runners also "stepped down" (not the right term but you know what I mean!) to contest their leg with the young and the fast. Thank you also to Rose Mayhew who ran up an age group and performed exceptionally well contributing to the teams second placing.

To our solid relay results:

Div 1 Men - 8th
Div 2 Women - 2nd
Women U20 - 2nd
Women U14 - 2nd

Albert Park 10km (3km for juniors) is this coming Sunday 14 July. Please do get yourself to the startline to enable great representation across all age groups - it doesn't need to be a PB run, we just need numbers on the start line. Juniors race at 8:20am and U18, U20 & Open Men and U20 & Open Women start at 8:50am. Entries close noon Wednesday 10 July.
