and NSA 3D Photo Competition close of entry today.

Auction of 3D equipment & Stereocards
On-Line at Aston's Auctions
10am Thursday 11 July 2019

There is a specialist photographic auction in Dudley - This Thursday 11th July 2019 at 10am.  Everything is online to view now or physical viewing at the auction house is Wednesday afternoon (10th) 12 - 4pm and Thursday morning from 8am until the auction starts at 10am.  In this sale out of 412 lots, almost 30 are of interest to stereo enthusiasts - including some lots of stereocards, Stereo Daguerreotypes and early cameras from the Bob White Collection which makes up much of this auction.

You can view the whole auction on Astons Auctions website

And also through the Saleroom website.

Once in the listing of lots use the smaller search box just above the list of lots - not along the top of the screen. Enter 'stereo' and it will filter the results - always double check with a search for '3d' as well.
(If you use the search box across the top of the page it will search all auctions on the website which may include lots of stereo hifi systems but equally may find stereo items in other auctions on other dates.)

The Astons specialist - "Camera, Photographic Equipment and Images Auction" is organised by society member Tim Goldsmith who can be contacted at Astons with any questions.  We would like to thank Tim and Aston's for their help adding some high value 2D items donated to the society to this auction at the last minute.

Best Wishes for a great summer.
Andrew Hurst

3-D Rarities Vol 2 Kickstarter Campaign
Reached its target.
British 1951 3-D short will be saved.
Thank You.

Last week I mentioned the Kickstarter Campaign to raise funds to digitise the material for the new 3-D Rarities Vol II; 3D BluRay.  Thank you to all of you who took interest and especially those that contributed - you will be pleased to hear they raised enough funds and more.

This means they will now be able to include and restore a historically important and rare 3-D short, produced by film pioneer Raymond Spottiswoode for the 1951 Festival of Britain.  3-D Rarities Vol.II blu-ray will include other wonderful stereoscopic material, including Mexico's first 3-D feature film,  El Corazón y la Espada.

I know some members visited the Festival of Britain and remember seeing the 3-D films, and hope you look forward to reminiscing when the film is restored.

Congratulations to Eric Kurland and 3-D Space on another successfully funded  Kickstarter campaign. Best wishes to all involved at the 3-D Film Archive with the work ahead, (the actual disc should be available early 2020).
