Allegheny County Children's Fund
Working Group seeks youth input 

The Allegheny County Children's Fund Working Group seeks participant input to incorporate into the recommendations made to the County Executive. They are looking for organizations to engage participants in a short survey and facilitated feedback session. Organizations that participate will be given everything they need, including a facilitators guide, a presentation, and feedback collection forms. The sessions will likely take one hour and will need to be completed by August 2nd. ONYX Microgrants
Calling all project ideas to improve safety or access to literacy on the Northside! The One Northside Youth Council has released an RFP for micro grants to support individuals or organizations  with project ideas to improve safety or access to literacy on Pittsburgh's Northside. The RFP and more details  can be found hereThe Youth Council is hosting two opportunities to learn more about this RFP: Wed July 17th at 10:30AM or Wed. July 24th at 10:30AM. Youth Media Camp
This August, local sound/production company Hear Corp (known for providing sound, lighting, and production needs for many of Pittsburgh's Cultural Institutions) is launching a new non-profit teaching space called 25 Carrick Ave Project.  On August 5-16 they will host a 2 week intro/primer camp (free) for interested youth that will highlight the technical skills needed in the entertainment/event industry: technical and vocational skills needed for broadcast television, live sound, studio recording, lighting, and more. The best part is, there are paid jobs waiting for those who complete the program!

ONYX Microgrants: up to $500 for applicants that are willing to impact the Northside for the better. Deadlines: July 17th and 24th
America's Promise Alliance: 30K to accelerate whole child work across your community. Deadline: July 24th
RML Blueprint for Learning: up to 50K to help schools, OST organizations, early childhood facilities, museums, libraries, and higher education institutions reimagine learning spaces. Deadline: July 31st.
American Honda Foundation: support for youth education, specifically in STEM, the environment, job training and literacy. Deadline: August 1st
First Book: free Books for afterschool programs. Deadline: August 15th
NSF: funding for proposals that pursue innovative instructional approaches and practices in formal and informal learning environments. Deadline: August 19th
YSA Lead Agency: grants to support youth volunteers. Deadline: September 11th 
Hershey's Heartwarming Action: funding for ideas that jumpstart inclusion, empathy and kindness in your school or community. Deadline: October 31st
Hip Hop Orchestra
Scholarships and paid internships available for black youth interested in playing instruments, singing, dance, MCing, writing, and rapping! Hip Hop Orchestra Camp offers beginning instrumental instruction with a staff of experienced Teaching Artists, as well as the opportunity to borrow an instrument for the week. Hip Hop Orchestra camp runs July 22-27th at East Liberty Presbyterian Church for youth entering 5th-12th grade in 2019. Email mc@gosound.org for scholarship information.

Global Family Research Project, Omidyar Network, Ubongo, the International Rescue Committee (IRC), and the Early Learning Lab (ELL) put together this new report: Family Agency and Voice: Designing the Next Generation of Family Engagementthat synthesizes the main themes emerging about how co-design creates shifts in family engagement. The report also comes with an accompanying activity guide.
