Do more Yoga!

How do you do more yoga? Especially in the summer, when the pace and energy level seems kicked up several notches. Your schedule and routine may be disrupted, because the kids are home from school, or you have company or because it's the summer. Can you keep in touch with the still point on the inside when everything starts moving faster on the outside? How do you do more yoga? You could... do Uttanasana with a hip tip on one of the benches on the boardwalk and get some tailbone release; stand in Tadasana while you wait in line; add 20 minutes of Ujjayi Pranayama to your day - do it at the beach for the sound of the ocean on the outside and the inside; utilize one of Swamiji's Quick Fixes; take an extra class; bring your company to class with you; come to the free meditation satsang on Wednesdays from 6pm-7:30pm; treat yourself to an Embodyment® session or a series; schedule a yoga therapy session or series; take a 1/2 day workshop; explore all the free teachings available from Swami Nirmalananda; repeat mantra; and so much more!

Terry's Thoughts: Happy Summer Yogis! Rehoboth and summer just go together. Everything gets busier, including our studio and it’s so much fun to offer additional classes, more events, more opportunities  to learn to meditate and to create space for more private sessions. I am loving the contents of this newsletter where every yogi can find ways to add to their yoga practice and  "do more yoga”. This includes the article about the “ Quick fixes “ contemplation themes of the past 6 months - they’ve been amazing... tips to easily add some yoga here and there everyday.  There are many quick fixes, like standing or sitting in you bones, I also love the quick uptake of breath with the pause at the end. A collection of must read and use articles!
Be sure to take note of our new and expanded schedule of classes! Thank you Kelly for your energy and creativity!  Perhaps you can create a mini yoga retreat for yourself with our new class followed by the meditation satsang on Wednesday, along with another class and possibly an Embodyment®️. There is also a “ you-jjayi” contest in July with a wonderful prize of a free weekend retreat at Lokananda in Downingtown! I want to take the opportunity  to THANK  all of the teachers who subbed my classes while I  took an absolutely amazing 3 week vacation with my family in Costa Rica, a trip of lifetime memories. And Kelly took yoga trainings, bringing more yoga to RBY.  I feel so blessed, as we all are , to have such a community!  Along with our wonderful Rehoboth Beach yoga teachers,  how fun to have Michèle Gordon  and Chelsea  King come back to teach for us - students loved seeing them again and taking their class! 
Rehoboth Beach yoga and I want to inspire everyone who is interested or curious  about yoga to have a positive and supportive experience.  So we invite you to join us and explore the many aspects of yoga we have to offer. We are a devoted group of teachers who have benefited greatly from our own practice and would love to share this path towards Self Realization, because we believe in the upliftment of this practice.

We teach Svaroopa® yoga at Rehoboth Beach Yoga. In Svaroopa® yoga, the focus is on releasing tension in the muscles around your spine. We get that release with precise alignments and support in the poses. In addition to our daily classes (check out our schedule!), we're offering the following asana events:

Meditation
We teach Svaroopa® Vidya Meditation at Rehoboth Beach Yoga. If you want to start a meditation practice, restart your practice, or are a regular meditator, we have programs to support you! We're offering the following meditation events in July:

Community

Mark your calendars now for the first weekend in October! Swami Nirmalananda will be offering satsang at Rehoboth Beach Yoga on Saturday, October 5th at 10am. Those of you that have attended satsang with Swamiji before know what a wonderful event this is! In addition, we're planning a community potluck and gathering for the afternoon/evening. It's always such a sweet time when we get to gather as a community outside of the studio. Sunday, October 6th, we will be hosting a full day program with Yogeshwari Lissa Fountain, that will include poses, chanting and meditation. You don't want to miss this!

Speaking of not wanting to miss things, Kelly will be heading up for Swami Sunday on Sunday, July 7th (that's this Sunday - it will be a nice escape from the craziness of the beach around the holiday!) and Sunday, July 28th. If neither of those dates work for you, she's also heading August 11th and 25th. She would love for you to join her! Email Kelly to make some plans. Read more about Swami Sunday here.
No classes on July 4th

In recognition of the national holiday, there will be no classes on Thursday, July 4th. What a great excuse to do some extra Ujjayi at home! Whatever your day may bring you, have a safe and happy 4th of July!

BreatheKeep track of tne number of minutes of Ujjayi Pranayama you do at home, and post your weekly totals on the chart at Rehoboth Beach Yoga. The yogi with the highest total will get their name submitted to the ashram. Sussex County Women's Journal Ad
Keep your eyes out for our ad in the summer issue of Sussex County Women's Journal. We're excited to be teaming up with Turning Point Yoga and Meditation to spread the good word about Svaroopa® yoga and Meditation opportunities here in slower lower Delaware.
Yoga and Meditation Series
On June 6th, I began teaching a new and exciting 12-week class series which includes both yoga poses and meditation. Not only is the goal of this style class to open your spine and your mind, it is also to take you deep into meditation. Yoga poses open your spine to allow your prana (energy) to flow and begin clearing the blockages created by your mind and emotions. Poses also prepare you to quiet your mind and go inward. Mantra and meditation are powerful next steps.
Eliminating these blockages are essential for you to find your inner essence. Meditation is more powerful when you are in a group of like-minded people who understand and appreciate the goal and promise of yoga - the knowing of your inner divinity - your Self.

On a personal note, I am amazed at how stimulating it is to create a class where the poses, contemplation and discourse are intertwined and pointed toward the goal of you being YOU all the time. If you would like to be notified when the next yoga and meditation class is scheduled, email me.

Take Your Yoga off the Floor

Join Kelly for an afternoon of poses that create strength and balance without effort. Learn how to use your legs instead of your spine, and even to release your spine. Trikonasana, or Triangle, will be our focus pose. You may be able to release your tailbone while standing with Triangle! You will leave feeling relaxed and energized, with increased adaptability under pressure, clarity, and mental and emotional balance. Read More

Clarity and The Cure
Saturday, August 24th 1pm-4pm
Cure your low back pain, sciatica and SI joint pain, as well as your anxiety. Pigeon backbend will give you all this and more! Join Kelly for an afternoon of poses that provide you with spinal release and an extension through your waist and sacrum. This extension, when found, provides you the cure for your low back pains and anxiety. You’ll also find increased clarity, self-identity and purpose in life. Read more

Private Sessions

A private session is an opportunity for you to work one on one with a yoga teacher/therpaist. There are different types of private sessions you can sign up for, including Embodyment® Yoga Therapy, Overlap Healing, Vichara Yoga Therapy, and Pose work.

Who can benefit from private sessions? People with a tight spot they can't quite release in class, people with chronic pain, people new to Svaroopa® yoga who want to familiarize themselves with the yoga before joining a class, people with busy minds that want to quiet them down, people who want support in developing a home practice, people who want to take their practice deeper, people who are facing challenges and could use some extra support... you get the idea. Everyone could benefit from a private session, and what a wonderful addition to your practice and way to take care of yourself! Travels with Terry
Many of you have heard about these trips. We have a trip to Utah scheduled from October 9th - 16th, 2019. There are just a couple of rooms remaining for this trip. We do yoga every morning and evening, and spend the days exploring the nature of Zion and Bryce Canyon. Let Terry know if you are interested in this trip or other locations we travel to, and I will put you on the email list! We also have about four rooms remaining for our trip to Tulum, Mexico next February. These trips are popular with our long time yogis - doing yoga twice a day for a week in a beautiful environment is very inspiring and deepens your desire to go further in your practice.
