From Norman
Hope you are having a restful summer. Dharma Seminar resumes August 7 and will continue through Sept 11 (August 7,14,21,28, September 4,11), after which (9/18), we will begin a new theme for the Fall Practice Period. More on that later...
in August/early September we will return to Dogen studies, reading the following texts from Shobogenzo:
(Note: numbers below refer to Kaz Tanahashi's two-volume Shobogenzo translation, the same fascicle may have a different number in another translation. and remember that there is a free Shobogenzo translation available online from the Shasta Abbey Zen group):
9. Raihai Tokuzui. Receiving the Marrow by Bowing
93. Shoji. Birth and Death
94. Doshin. Heart of the Way
96. Ippyakuhachi Homyo Mon.108 Gates of Realizing Dharma
I look forward to seeing you then.
- Yours, Norman
