Who’s Influencing State Supreme Court Nomination? (Granite Grok) The legal establishment is coming out in force in favor of MacDonald while advocates for a wide range of issues strongly oppose him. So far, most of the opinions and editorials have been one-sided in favor of appointing MacDonald, including this one, which attacks the "abortion industry" in New Hampshire and this one, which takes up a stand for judicial independence.

In fact, defendants are often left to foot the bill - up to $10 a day. If they don't pay up or miss payments, they may end up behind bars anyway."

Experts suggest Supreme Court may change approach to review of Indian land case (Tulsa World) This is an intersting read with a good amount of historical context included: "Murphy contends he should have been tried in a Creek court because the tribe has jurisdiction on a reservation that still exists. The state of Oklahoma argues that Congress clearly meant to disestablish the reservation because it stripped the tribe of its jurisdiction in eastern Oklahoma, its authority and property. The U.S. Justice Department is siding with Oklahoma in the case."
