The use of bones and other zoological remains has a longstanding use in witchcraft. Their use allows us to more easily tap into the deep currents of the land and to better communicate with spirits -especially of the dead. The spirits, too, of those animals can become strong allies and even familiars, aiding us in our witchcraft.

But there is so much truly awful information out there on working with bones that not only promotes improper preservation methods for those bones and zoological remains but that also treats the spirits of the animals lingering in those remains disrespectfully.

As this is a subject very dear to me and that defines my personal practice, it was only matter of time before I tackled this subject with my writing. That time has finally come.

Introducing a brand new course…

Engaging with animal spirits and working with their remains is another means of dancing with the land and its spirits. It is potent form of magick that helps us to confront our own mortality and bridge the liminality between the living and the dead, between the physical world and the spirit world.

Through 6 weekly lessons, you’ll explore the nature of these benign spirits and discover ways to respectfully work their remains, including how to approach those remains in the wild. During weekly chats with others taking the course, we’ll share our thoughts and experiences in working with bones and other zoological remains, our efforts in engagine with animal spirits to gain a familiar (or two,) and build a trusted witch family during our time together in this course.
