 Hello all,
With a by-election being called and  mindful of our stance as a non political group, we thought that we should ascertain the views of all candidates . This link will show you the letter we sent and as responses come in I will add them to our website and Facebook page. At the Hustings in Talgarth on Monday, one of our members was able to ask a question about the right to work for people seeking asylum. The responses were interesting with, I'm told,  most candidates welcoming the concept.
If any of you are attending hustings in the next few weeks you might like to ask the following questions of the candidates-
1What do you think about people seeking asylum being given the right to work once they have been here for over 6 months?
2 Will you make a commitment to ensure that in line with the rest of Western Europe the UK has a maximum time limit on immigration detention and that detention be used more sparingly and subject to Judicial review ?
3 Handling of immigration matters by the Home Office has become a national scandal. Combined with wrongful policies (especially 'hostile environment') there are persistent and systematic errors and inefficiencies. Will you make a commitment to ensure that your party reviews immigration policy and brings the management of the home office in line with human rights?
