GSCORE, in partnership with the City of Albany and the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, invites you to a FREE community workshop that will demonstrate how Trail Towns create jobs, grow regional economies and build communities. The theme for this year’s Trail Forum is:
Trails are for everyone: Building community resilience through trail development
KEYNOTE:
• “Beyond ‘World Class’ – An insight into the planning and preparation for the Warburton Mountain Bike Destination” (Matt Harrington, Senior Project Manager, Yarra Ranges Council, Victoria)
PROGRAM:
• “Using trails to tackle social disadvantage, build resilience and improve mental health: Case studies from the Great Southern Region” (Panel discussion)
• “Update on the Great Southern Regional Trails Masterplan” (Lenore Lyons, Executive Director, GSCORE)
• Workshop: "Using trails to build stronger, healthier communities” – How do we ensure that trail building projects deliver strong social and health benefits to residents? How do we ensure that trail development is inclusive? How can we use trails to tackle social disadvantage?
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
The Trail Town Forum is targeted at:
• Community development officers and community groups (including those working with youth, seniors, disabled groups, and Aboriginal groups)
• Health and allied health service providers (including Mental Health service providers)
• Trail Managers and Trail Marketing organisations, including local government, state government agencies, not-for-profit organisations, and local tourism organisations
• Clubs and Associations, and members of the public that regularly use trails
• Businesses servicing the trails and tourism sector (including accommodation, tours, attractions, hospitality and retail, consulting services)
