The Wheatbelt, in all its diversified faces, is the authentic heart and backbone of Western Australia and RDA Wheatbelt is dedicated to helping all who represent it be supported and liberated to harness competitive advantages, seize on economic opportunity and attract investment.
RDA Wheatbelt supports the 42 Local Government Authorities, stakeholders and our broader community in every way we can.
- We are the only regional/economic federal conduit and therefore the primary point of contact for any issues or initiatives that affect the Wheatbelt region.
- We attract funding to the region, supporting local government, businesses and not-for-profit.
- We connect, facilitate and engage as collaborative partners.
- Our Committee is selected to cover skills in a wide range of disciplines including finance, health, small business, tourism, agriculture, regional development, education, transport, and local government, and with expertise in care and services for people of all kinds through all life stages.

Congratulations - Ngala Wele Karla Project Officer's Scholarship
Steph Mippy, Project Officer for the Yued Noongar Enterprise Development Support project “Ngala Wele Karla” has been accepted for a Yorga Djenna Bidi Aboriginal Women’s Leadership Program Scholarship. Bringing together Aboriginal women across different cultures, ages, occupations, leadership experiences and education levels to build skills, gain confidence and build networks.
The Program involves four modules of leadership development over a five-month period. The modules combine the best of successful group leadership programs and draws on best practice leadership modules. Cultural content and context is interwoven through the program design and delivery. The scholarship value is $7500.
“I am looking forward to this journey. To be given this wonderful opportunity, learning different aspects of leadership, which in turn enables me to better support Yued people within my current role and beyond.” said Steph

WiTWA Tech [+] 20 Awards. Women who may be a technologist, scientist, innovator, entrepreneur or perhaps not 'tech' but works with tech teams or on tech projects. Nominate now. Closing 31 July.
GRDC Herbicide Behaviour Workshops. Gain a better understanding of the key factors dictating herbicide performance and what can be done in the paddock to ensure weed control is maximised. Wongan Hills 8-9 Aug, Merredin 12-13 Aug and York 14-15 Aug.
Wongan Hills Astrotourism site. The local community often gathers at the Airport to watch special astronomical events such as Lunar Eclipses and tourists are welcome to use it for stargazing.
A new, free legal assistance service is available from the Fair Work Commission offering small business owners who don’t have in-house legal, workplace relations or human resources staff, access to free advice on workplace issues such as unfair dismissal, general protections and workplace bullying.

The Not-for-Profit Treasurers' Awards are designed to recognise the contribution that NFP treasurers make to their community group, the NFP sector as a whole and to Aust society. Prizes of $5000 for your NFP. Closing July 25.
Australia Post Community Grant. Up to $10,000 to support projects and services that address locally identified needs that strengthen social connections and reduce barriers to participating in community life. Closing 4 August.
ANZ Seeds of Renewal. Up to $15,000 for community organisations to help convert their ideas to build vibrant and sustainable rural communities into reality. Closing 6 Aug.
Qantas Regional Grants. Providing financial, flight and marketing support to community groups and organisations that help deliver direct services or benefits to regional communities. Closing 30 August.
Patagonia Australia funding (Typically $10 - $20,000 USD) to support small grassroots organisations with provocative direct-action agendas, working on multi-pronged campaigns to preserve and protect our environment. Closing 31 August.
The CSRFF annual and forward planning grant targets projects involving a detailed level of planning with a total project cost over $300,000. Applications to be lodged with your local Gov't by the end of August.
Regional Economic Development Grants. (REDs) Up to $250,000 for individual projects that promote sustainable jobs, partnerships, productivity, skills and capability, as well as stimulate new investment in industry diversification. Closing 13 Sept.
Strengthening Rural Communities. Up to $10,000 towards meeting an immediate small scale need within a community, or for giving a boost to a larger initiative. Closing 24 Sept.
You Grow Girls. Open to any Aust netball club or Assn for a specific project to benefit the local community. $2000 or $20,000 grants. Closing 30 Sept.
