The Georgia Tech Counseling Center (www.counseling.gatech.edu) is located in the Student Services (Flag) Building and open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. throughout the week. The after-hours number for the Counseling Center is 404-894-2575.

The Office of the Dean of Students also has a referral option if you are concerned about a student (www.deanofstudents.gatech.edu).

have you ever wondered "hey what's pride alliance up to these days?" but you didn't know how to find out? well look no further because in addition to posting what were up to on our social media we also now have the Rainbow Bulletin page on our website pride.gatech.edu which will tell you everything that we're doing!

Search for a New Director


The search for a new director of the LGBTQIA Resource Center is underway and our wonderful vice president william is joining the search committee in charge of find Aby's replacement.

Q Chats Facilitator Application


The LGBTQIA Resource Center is looking for one new person to be a Q Chats facilitator for the QPoC Group and one for the Queer Women’s Group! The facilitator would begin in Fall 2019 and serve Spring 2020 and Fall 2020, with the opportunity to complete a third semester in Spring 2021. It would entail a training with me once at the beginning of your starting semester and the beginning of fall semesters. If you are interested in this wonderful leadership opportunity, please check our website to learn more about the position and see if it is a good fit. We at Pride Alliance are happy to announce our partnership with AfroPunk, an organization dedicated to celebrating the art, music, and identity of black communities around the world. Each year, they showcase the diverse culture of all black communities in AfroPunk Fest, and we're excited to share their lineup for #AFROPUNKAtlanta!

First Annual Stonewall March

Howdy Folx,

ATL Pride is hosting their first ever stonewall march. We are going to try to get a group. we can lyft or walk over together. We have some signs and materials if you want to carry a sign.

We will meet at the Ford building where the signs are stored.

"The Atlanta Pride Committee is happy to announce the first Stonewall March, happening on Sunday, June 30th. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, a historical event that galvanized the queer liberation movement and changed LGBTQ history forever, as well as the founding of the Georgia Gay Liberation Front. The 2019 Stonewall March was created to honor the legacy of Stonewall, and to highlight the incredible communities and activists that are doing the work here in Atlanta, and throughout the Southeast.

The march happens Sunday, June 30th. Line-up for the march will start at 12PM at the Arts Center MARTA Station (1255 West Peachtree St Atlanta, GA 30309 / Arts Center Way NE at 15th street). Step-off will happen at 1PM. The march will march southwards toward Piedmont Park. Following the march, there will be a rally featuring speakers from the community at large.

Southern Fried Queer Pride 2019

 

Hey y'all Southern Fried Queer Pride is hosting a summer festival 

"In a galaxy far far away....something queer has been traveling lightyears to be here....and now we've crash landed in the A, and we're here to stay!

The Southern Fried Queer Pride 2019! Festival is here and celebrating 5 FRIED YEARS of queering Atlanta and the South through the arts. This means 5 years of legendary dance parties, catalyzing community discussions, provocative art galleries, A BALL, and so much more. Now we bring you 5 DAYS of deep fried, queer seasoned events!"

 

June 29th is their "SWEET TEA: A Queer Variety Show" event. If you would like to see a list of the events occurring during the festival you can find it on their facebook page.

BlackRock Founders Scholarship

 

The BlackRock Founders Scholarship is an accelerated application process for rising juniors, through which you can obtain a 2020 Summer Internship at BlackRock, and also be considered for a $17,500 merit award. if you identify as Black, Hispanic, Native American, LGBTQ+ or disabled, and will graduate between December 2019 and July 2020 you are eligible to apply.
