Bird City Comedy
The Roast of Depression

Thursday, August 8th 8:30pm

Comedy people only roast the ones they love, but Burn City roasts the stuff that we got no love for.

Each month, we'll pick a different societal ill and do our best to set it ablaze. We'll go in on a wide variety of bullshit, from the mistreatment of marginalized groups of the population to the rising suicide rate to rampant income inequality and more.

This month's target is "Depression," and we'll be raising money for the Arizona Suicide Prevention Coalition during the show.

Tickets $5 at the door

Every Sunday from 6:30-9:30pm
$15 per session

Do you need something meaningful to do between acting gigs? Do you have a story you are itching to tell? Let award-winning writer/performer Kim Porter help you make that happen at the Solo Workshop.

This workshop is designed to help participants generate new material, support projects already in development, and offer accountability in a relaxed and generous small group environment.

The Solo Workshop is designed to meet the participant where they are and is therefore ideal for both beginners and established writer-performers.

Featured Performer: Clifton Gray
Clifton Gray has been performing since April 2011. His influences include the founding members of the Torch, Brian O'Connell, P-Graph, Annie and Levin O'Conner and AJ Shainker.
Clifton doesn't have a specific format that he prefers but said if he's not performing one he tends to think of the show in terms of the Harold. The thing he loves most about improv is the freedom to control your world.

Favorite quote/advice from a coach/instructor:
if you think you've reached the end of improv and there's nothing new to do, invent something no one has every done before. It's a limitless artform. - Levin O'Conner

You can see Clifton perform with:
New Heart every 4th Saturday
Skewed News Hour every 3rd Friday
Featured team every first Saturday

Zombie Gourmet

Cast: Andrew Bernier, Eric Storie, Jackie Rich, Liz Hutchman, and Alexander Danvers

Zombie Gourmet dishes up an organic buffet of brainy bits, relying on flexibility, support, high energy and feeding off of each other to shape their shows.

Composed of stylistically diverse and dynamic troupe members, well seasoned like hand-me-down cast iron, ZG marches ceaselessly toward the lights in their ravenous pursuit of comedy.

Long form full of bizarre worlds, pulsating organs, and lightly braised transitions, the Zombie Gourmet format explores the soft, fleshy, delicious parts of improv.
