Today we gathered at our New Location to tell stories and sing songs. But we also prayed this prayer:
Our Father in Heaven, we ASK you for your blessing. We SEEK your blessing. We KNOCK and pray to you that the doors of your blessing would be opened.
We pray that YOUR NAME would be made holy in this place. We pray that we would be the People of YOUR NAME. We pray that THIS land would be blessed as a place where more and more people would come to know YOUR NAME. The Name that is above every name. That name at which every knee will bow. That name which every tongue shall confess: JESUS, The Messiah, The Lord, to the Glory of God the Father: HALLOWED BE YOUR NAME!
We pray that YOUR KINGDOM would come HERE. We pray that we would be the People of YOUR KINGDOM. We pray that you would bless this place for the advance of your Kingdom, within us and toward those who don't know you yet. We pray that you would bless all efforts of all those who will build things here, work here, pray here, sing here, preach here, teach here, laugh here, weep here, hurt here, heal here, grow here, encourage here and share here. We pray that YOUR KINGDOM would come HERE and then would launch out from here to all the places around us.
We pray that you would bring HEAVEN down to EARTH. So that things done here would be done JUST AS THEY ARE IN HEAVEN. We pray that what goes on here would make people think of heaven and also think about what you are doing to bring about the NEW HEAVENS and the NEW EARTH. We pray that you would give us YOUR POWER to PARTICIPATE in that very mission!
We pray that you would give us the resources we need, each DAY our DAILY needs. We pray that we would have what we need when we need it. We pray that you would guide us and empower us to then take what we've been given and to SHARE it!
We pray for your forgiveness. Not because we deserve it, but because you love us. We know that you love us because you sent your Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ to die for us, and rose for us so that all of our sins could be forgiven! Help us receive this forgiveness O LORD, and then help that waterfall of GRACE, which splashes all over us, FLOW OUT onto all of those around us. Let us be a FORGIVEN PEOPLE WHO THEN FORGIVES.
We pray for your Spirit to continuously lead us in the midst of the great trials we face! Help us always to look at Jesus. Help us always to look at the cross. Help us always look at the empty tomb.
We pray that you would deliver us and this place from the evil one. We pray that you would cast him and all those like him out of this place. Make this land a place where YOU REIGN and the evil rulers of this world have NO AUTHORITY; NO CLAIM; NO POWER. Make this place explode with your light, bursting forth your love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Make darkness have no place here.
HELP US TO GATHER HERE. HELP US TO GROW HERE. HELP US TO ENCOURAGE ONE ANOTHER HERE. HELP US BE SENT OUT OF HERE TO SHARE WHAT YOU HAVE GIVEN TO US.
For this place is YOURS. All power and authority are YOURS. May all that is done here be for YOUR GLORY. FOREVER AND EVER. AMEN.
