Hollywood Burbank Airport officials pass resolution asking
FAA to change flight paths

From The Los Angeles Times:
Authority members voted 8-0 on Monday to approve a resolution as a way to try and provide relief for Studio City residents and those who live in the south San Fernando Valley who say they have been bombarded with aircraft noise the past two years.

Residents of those communities are blaming the FAA’s Next Generation Air Transportation System, known as NextGen, for the increase in planes flying over their homes.

Reps. Adam Schiff (D-Burbank), Brad Sherman (D-Sherman Oaks) and 27 other members of Congress have sent a letter to the U.S. Government Accountability Office to investigate how the FAA has handled the noise concerns raised by people across the country during the implementation of NextGen, according to a statement. In classrooms, on sports fields, and inside City Hall the City is creating opportunities to ensure girls have the strength, skills and support they need to succeed. Take advantage of LADWP’s most popular water conservation program. Transform your lawn and create a sustainable landscape that includes:

California Friendly® plants, including native species, appropriate for the Los Angeles climate
Mulch and other groundcover to help retain moisture in the soil
A rain capturing feature like a rain garden, rain barrel, cistern, infiltration trench, or vegetated swale
Drip irrigation (as needed)
