Matthew Evans of
Fat Pig Farm and Gourmet Farmer fame has written an excellent book about eating meat, called, naturally, 'On Eating Meat'. 
It's well-researched, intelligent, compassionate and an important contribution to the discussion of how we negotiate the thorny questions around meat production and consumption. Matthew has a particular way of making hard, complex information accessible, sensible and digestible and this latest book is no exception.
