Kakao Games obtains ISO 27001 and ISO 27018 certification for Information Security and
Personal Information Management

Amsterdam, The Netherlands - 1st of July / Kakao Games Europe B.V. have announced today that they have obtained ISO 27001 and ISO 27018 certification, the international standard on information security and personal information management.

By obtaining the certification, Kakao Games shows its commitment and responsibility in providing a safe environment for its player community by adhering to widely recognized international standards on data protection and personal information management. Kakao Games will apply the standards in their applications, employees, technology, data centers, cloud environments as well as safeguarding personal information.

Kyuman Lym, Data Protection Officer at Kakao Games said: “Kakao Games has been managing and securing personal information in the global games market for the past few years and by obtaining the ISO certifications the reliability and systems have been strengthened. From now on we will work hard to further strengthen our internal structure as a global game company.”

Furthermore, Kakao Games Europe’s parent company and South Korean headquarters has maintained the yearly certification of major domestic security systems such as ISMS since 2017.
