More and more I find myself telling people that my current practice is making friends. June saw a lot of that. I hosted a gathering at the chapel with some talented pals I worked with in Nepal on the British Council Creating Heroines project in February (not yet updated at this link). Aleesha Nandhra, Sofia Niazi and Jill Richens. We spent quality time walking, talking and eating with a bit of essential 'band practice".

Joining the global dance
in Lincolnshire

The hottest day of the year was just another day dancing in the street for us rural Lincolnshire dwellers!

More friendship-led activity took place with our guest from Joshua Tree Bernard Leibov. John and I originally met Bernard in the queue to Mike Nelson's work in the British Pavillon at Venice in 2011. In 2018 John visited Joshua Tree on an exchange The Collab Project and in June we hosted Bernard at the chapel. We gathered a group of local artist friends for lunch and then Bernard led us in taking part in Ana Sanchez Colberg's Seven to the Seventh project. BIOGRAPHY
Dr Nicola Streeten is a published graphic novelist and comics historian. With over twenty years’ experience as a freelance illustrator, since 2009 she has been working specifically with the comics form. Nicola has extensive experience of delivering comics workshops, both nationally and internationally in a variety of contexts to people of all levels. Since 2014 she has taught on Art and Design undergraduate courses at London College of Communication (UAL), Kingston University and Brighton University and on courses at The Creative Writing Programme, Brighton. Her work mentoring artists individually has been a central element of her role in developing and delivering outcomes for the British Council “Creating Heroines” project since 2018. She has sat as judge on the Myriad First Graphic Novel competition and for the Laydeez Awards prize.
