4th of July Parade Ice Cream "Float"

North Shore UMC will have a float in the 4th of July parade this year, which begins at 3 PM at Central School, and concludes at Lakefront Park. Our church's float features a large, inflated ice cream cone attached to a car as a way of advertising the church's "Sundae Sunday" celebration open to the entire Glencoe Community on July 21st from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on the church's front lawn.
As part of Glencoe's 150th Anniversary celebration, NSUMC welcomes you to Sundae Sunday, July 21st, 2–4 pm on the lawn at Hazel and Greenleaf Avenues. Ice cream with your choice of toppings will be given free to the first 300 people in attendance.

"Ghostbusters @ Ravinia"

We will have 20 pavilion tickets available to see Ghostbusters at Ravinia Sunday, July 21 at 8 pm. The CSO will accompany the film. We will gather for dinner first. Ticket price $12.50. Please contact Scott Javore to purchase a ticket.

Movie Night:
Instant Family

Join us Friday, July 12, 6:30-10:00 PM for dinner and a movie. We will eat together and then watch Instant Family on the big screen TV in Barbee Hall. Instant Family is a 2018 American comedy film starring Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrne as parents who adopt three young children. The film is directed by Sean Anders, who wrote the screenplay with John Morris, based in part on Anders' own experiences.

Adult Forum: "Immigrant Detention, American Values, and the Religious Imperative"

Immigrant detention is back in the news. The number of immigrants seeking asylum is seeming to swell, and conditions in the camps in which they are being detained are deteriorating. What should be America's response? What should we, as religious people who care about welcoming the stranger, be thinking and doing? On Sunday, July 14th following worship in Barbee Hall, join Bruce Elder, rabbi of Congregation Hakafa and former facilitator of the Shut Tornillo Down Coalition, for a discussion of timely concern.

Rummage Sorting!

Anyone who can stay after Adult Forum on July 14 to help sort rummage is welcome. Even a few minutes of your time will help move this important effort forward.

This year's Rummage Sale is Sat, Oct 5th. The church is now collecting items for the sale. Please drop items off during office hours of 9 AM to Noon, M-F.
