July 5, 2019
Dear Neighbor,
I hope everyone enjoyed a fun and peaceful Independence Day yesterday.
Next week is the first full week of 48th Ward Safe Summer Nights programming, I hope you'll join me at one or more of our events. I am excited to announce the launch of a new series of Monday night events on Berwyn Ave. In partnership with Steep Theatre, The Boxcar, Rewired Cafe, and Edgewater Chamber of Commerce/SSA #26, come out to enjoy food trucks, musics, games, and community on Berwyn Ave. between the train tracks and Winthrop from 5-8pm each Monday night through the end of August. Click here for the Facebook event to invite your friends.
Other regular events that begin this week include:

I am hosting an informational meeting on Monday, July 8, 6:30pm, at 5300 N. Broadway, to share information about a plan for a Chicago Public Schools Early Childhood Education site at this location. This use would require a special use zoning permit. This site would open for the 2020-2021 school year and would support Peirce Elementary School and other local CPS schools in the ward. If you are unable to attend the meeting and have questions about this project, please email me at harry@48thward.org.
Enjoy your weekend and be safe. If you're staying local during this long weekend, please stop by Windy City Ribfest in Uptown to support the great work of Business Partners - The Chamber for Uptown and Uptown United.
Sincerely,
Harry Osterman
Alderman, 48th Ward
