Message From Our Chairman

We hope you are enjoying the summer and taking some well-deserved time to relax. What a great way to kick off the 2019 hurricane season with a quiet start – just the way everyone likes it.

With peak season just around the corner, start thinking about how you and your teams will prepare for this 2019 holiday season. Points to consider:
  • Starting your planning early
  • Reflect on what worked and what didn’t
  • Invest time and training in your people
  • Review your 3rd party resources
  • Focus on increased Ecommerce business
  • Leverage technology and be innovative
  • Always expect the unexpected
I wanted to thank those again who participated in the 2019 Conference Survey. Your continued support is greatly appreciated as we are already planning for the ISCPO 2020 Conference.  Mark your calendars for March 4th and 5th to be back again in Dallas, Texas. We already have several great speakers committed to discussing industry insights and trends. Some of the session topics will be Freight Forwarding Cybercrime, Building an LP Department from the Ground Floor, and ECommerce Emerging Trends. We will also have more details about our Carrier Audit & Certification program for final-mile carriers.

If you haven’t had a chance to check out our brand-new podcast series, ISCPO 360 Security Podcast where we chat about the latest in supply chain protection with the best in the business. Thanks again for all your support as we drive for much-needed innovation, collaboration, and standards within the industry.

Chairman, ISCPO

"No system is perfect, and there are good loss prevention and asset protection professionals working aggressively to make the systems better. The LP and AP folks making the biggest improvements are like the system—they must be smart and able to change and respond to new technology immediately."

Executive Roundtable Interview Series: Liz D’Aloia, HR Virtuoso Company

As part of our Executive Roundtable Interview Series, we sat down with ISCPO Board Member Liz D’Aloia. Liz is Founder & CEO of HR Virtuoso,  an HR and employment law consulting firm that also helps companies optimize their employment application processes and increase their candidate pool with its proprietary mobile recruiting software system (SaaS). Prior to launching HR Virtuoso, Liz rose through the ranks of transportation, retail, and mortgage companies as a Senior Employment Attorney and VP of HR.

An active ISCPO board member, she provides a unique perspective on the many facets of HR management. We asked Liz to share where the industry is going as it related to people resources, dealing with staff shortages, and best practices in advocating the LP profession within organizations.
