Can you spare 30 minutes to cheer teens on this summer?
Do you have 30 min to spare on Monday, July 15th from 9:30-10 am to line a red carpet in one of three Philadelphia neighborhoods and cheer our teens on their first day of work??
You may have seen on social media some schools are rolling out the red carpet and lining it with cheering adults on the first day back to school. We're going to do the same thing for our Play Captains on their first day of work and roll out the red carpet and cheer them on!
For those of you not familiar with the Play Captain Initiative, Fab Youth Philly hires teens ages 15-19 and train them in playful learning, child development and facilitation to lead games on the Play Streets and in neighborhoods throughout Philadelphia. Go to www.playcaptains.com and www.fabyouthphilly.com for more information. The PCI is possible with support from Impact Services, Drexel University's Promise Neighborhood and The City of Philadelphia.
For many of our teens, this is their first job, and so we want them to know that there are adults from their neighborhood that see them, believe in them and want them to have a positive work experience. That's where YOU come in.
