The heat and humidity are here in Columbia County and will be with us for 2 months.
This is the kind of weather to kick back in and take it slooooow.
That said, it is a great time to indulge your curiosity, and become a student again.
But, this is the BEST time of year to get out all your
wool/alpaca/mohair/silk/cashmere hand knits and wash them.
A nice warm afternoon (so natural fibers can dry quickly)
and time spent with your cherished garments
results in piles of freshened clothes to pack away for the cool fall weather. These directions were written decades ago and are always found
on the home page Countrywool's of website.
Trying something new can be daunting, but how about in a class
with others who are also experimenting?
We have a few opportunities for you this month
at Countrywool and the Claverack Library.
We meet for the first time this Wednesday, July 3, from 1-3
at the Claverack Library for a FREE Crochet Class.
On July 8 we will hold our first LACE CLASS for the summer, Monday 6-8, followed by two more July 15 and 22.
Beginners will enjoy making
the OLD SHALE shawl.
Patterns and weekly follow up
help are included
with your class fee.
Comfortable with lace knitting?
You might enjoy this project.
KNIT NITE is in full swing.
We are working on a project for NEXT winter: the Lusekofte, a Countrywool pattern.
If YOU are working on a pattern using yarn purchased at Countrywool,
you are more than welcome to join us. Mondays 6-8.

And, finally, if you are eager to sign up for the RIP VAN WINKLE FALL KNITTING RETREAT,

you are eligible for a DISCOUNT, and it will be first come, first served starting on that day. Watch this space!
