contradancing, its time to try this Monadnock region tradition
Nelson Monday night contradance
With live music in Nelson presented by Monadnock Folklore Society, the weekly dance is an informal affair featuring a variety of callers and musicians, from local regulars to visiting dignitaries. An effort is made to identify and welcome beginners, and several of our regular dancers are always willing to offer a few tips. But if you arrive at the dance and feel lost, don’t hesitate to speak to the caller or someone else that looks like they know what they are doing. $3.00 and free cookies! More information
Peterborough contra dances are held on the first Saturday of every month. The dance opens at 7:30 with a beginners workshop, and the dancing starts at 8:00. The callers and bands represent diverse choices from New England’s finest. Admission to the dance is $10 / $7 for students and senior citizens. Follow on Peterborough Contra Dance Facebook page
