We are developing a new life cycle analysis tool for heat and power companies. The tool will give up-to-date information on the customer's plants and future prospects considering legislation, future need for repairs, future energy prices and many other factors.

During the research phase, we listened to our customers and identified their needs for the development project. Through the interviews, we received many interesting perspectives on life cycle thinking, as well as concrete suggestions for components to include in the future life cycle tool. Building the tool together with our customers is of great importance to ensure that we can offer a service that meets our customers' needs and that truly has value.

The research phase of the development project, including customer interviews, is now being finalized. In the next phase of the project, a framework will be created for the software on which the future life cycle tool will be built. The first version of the software will be released towards the end of 2019.

Haapajärven Lämpö Oy has signed an agreement with Laitex Oy on the delivery of the new biofuel plant’s fuel receiving system as a turnkey delivery.

Haapajärven Lämpö is constructing a new biofuel plant where the boiler’s thermal power will be about 20MW. The eco-friendly heating plant will be introduced in 2021-2022 and will utilize local fuel, such as wood chips, sawmill by-products as well as untreated recycled wood.
The bio-plant is a public procurement where MAB Powertec’s expertise has played an important role as the owner’s engineer service provider.

In the spring, Haapajärven Lämpö signed an agreement for the boiler procurement package and in June the company signed an agreement with Laitex for the fuel receiving system.

In the beginning of the summer, MAB Powertec welcomed a new senior specialist, Anna! The soon-to-be Doctor in Energy Engineering contributes as an expert in our energy and biorefining sector.
Anna has previously worked in Tampere University of Technology as a researcher and teacher, specializing in energy engineering and biorefining. Her expertise reinforces MAB Powertec's know-how in various environmental and energy projects.
