Children's clothes and baby equipment

Growbaby recycles nearly-new clothes, toys and equipment to help families in need with children under 5. This is regardless of income, background or faith; no referral is needed, and all items are free! They want to build community and relationships to support young families and provide them with clothes/equipment. They also want to empower those they help by asking them to be part of the solution, so recipients are asked to bring back their under 5s kit when it is no longer needed.

Can GrowBaby help you? Do you need children's clothes or baby equipment? They might have what you need!

Can you help GrowBaby? Do you have children's clothes or baby items you no longer need?  You could also wash or sort clothes or help with donations and collections.

Their store is based in Binley but collections and deliveries can be arranged. For more, contact zia@coventryvineyard.org.uk or call 02476 633966.
tastelife

People with eating disorders find themselves in a very dark place. tastelife aims to help them out of that darkness, by providing compassionate knowledge, understanding, and tools for recovery. Train to run our 8-session tastelife course in your community on 26th - 28th September in Coventry, and offer sufferers and carers effective tools for recovery!

This course is desperately needed as there are an estimated 4 million sufferers in the UK, but limited NHS resources. The training is inspiring - and always fun! It will equip you with all you need, plus accreditation from University of Brighton. Based on Christian values but suitable for all.

Office space?

The Association of Christian Counsellors are a small charity looking for office space for its head office function of about five people, maybe a couple more. They are a membership organisation for counsellors and pastoral carers, but none of this type of activity would be carried out on the premises. They are looking for office space as follows:

Size: around 600 sq ft
Ground floor or lift access to upper floors
Car parking for staff
Office space not shared with another organisation because of confidentiality
Separate meeting room (or access to one)
Possibly shared WCs and/or kitchen
Currently paying £8,100 pa

If you can help, please contact them.
Can communities be reconciled?

In a time where our world feels messy and divided, ‘Difference’ is a 5-session course for all Christians to help us discover how our faith can make a positive impact, exploring the values that form our God-given identity and the habits that help us model it in our everyday contexts.

If you are interested in your church joining a pioneer cohort running the course from this Autumn onward, please contact Luke Stewart, Reconciling Leaders Network (RLN) Co-ordinator, by clicking the link below.

RLN will provide two training day options at St Michael's House at Coventry Cathedral, either the 17th or 19th October 2019 from 10am–4:30pm.

MP Liam Byrne visit

HOPE Coventry trustees enjoyed meeting with MP Liam Byrne recently, discussing the issues of homelessness and poverty. Liam praised our Coventry Winter Night Shelter, and the way that churches in Coventry work together with each other and with other organisations to be a force for good in the city.

Open up for Heritage Weekend!

There’s an opportunity to for faith venues to apply to be part of the 25th anniversary of Heritage Open Week in September.  It would be lovely if people had the opportunity to visit your church as part of the wider offering for this very special week.

It’s a great opportunity to continue the wonderful building bridges work that the faith communities are so very good at – and show outstanding love and hospitality to people.

If people would like to open their doors to visitors – the deadline for application is very soon – first week in August 2019. You can apply to be included via this very simply form on www.coventry.gov.uk/hod.
