RECAP OF BRAINERD RALLY AND FEDERAL DELISTING PROPOSAL: Thank you to the many supporters who traveled to Brainerd, Minnesota to rally and speak for the wolf at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s one public hearing on their proposal to remove federal Endangered Species Act protections. The official comment period ended on July 15 and we await the decision - and will keep you posted! A special thank you to the almost two million people who submitted comments in opposition.  HFW PROVIDES NONLETHAL CONFLICT PREVENTION METHODS: In an effort to reduce the number of wolf conflicts with livestock and the number of wolves killed in response, Howling For Wolves has recently partnered with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Wildlife Services (WS) for a unique cooperative wildlife damage management partnership program. While livestock losses from wolf predation are relatively low in Minnesota, reducing the losses of livestock (and wolves) is critical to helping Minnesota’s farmers, wolves, and communities co-exist and thrive.
