Our Schedule Just Keeps Heating Up
This month has been one of the hottest on record, and that includes our schedule here at Standard Solar. Between the ribbon-cutting on a community solar project in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, and our busy travel schedules to various regional shows, we’re as hot as we’ve ever been—and show no signs of slowing down.
Earlier this month, we hosted a webinar about community solar, the fastest-growing segment of the solar industry and one in which we are financing a lot of projects, in conjunction with our friends at pv magazine. The webinar was a great success, and we thoroughly enjoyed participating in it. Give it a listen here.
In addition, we're also busy on the speaking and trade show circuit. Our CDO Tony Clifford attended and spoke at the Community Solar Power Summit two weeks ago and continued our established leadership on the topic. He discussed the different paths Pennsylvania and Maryland have taken toward the segment and provided other insights on the subject of community solar in a well-received, standing-room only talk.

Brooklyn Park Installs Largest Solar Project Of Any Minnesota City
Brooklyn Park, (MN) – 7/8/2019 – Mayor Jeffrey Lunde announced today the completion of the solar panel installation at city facilities. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Congressman Dean Phillips, Speaker of the House Melissa Hortman, all supporters of clean energy, joined the news conference to talk about the importance of this project.
“Back in 2015, we worked closely with the community to decide where we want the City of Brooklyn Park to go. It was clear they want the city to be a leader in environmental sustainability,” said Mayor Lunde. “Four years later, we are proud to say we were able to complete this project without any cost burden on taxpayers.”
