"How wonderful it is to see a messenger coming across the mountains, bringing Good News, the news of peace!" Isaiah. 52:7 GNT

It will soon be time for me to pack my suitcase again for another flight to Southeast Asia. Once again we’ll be teaching the H. people, digging deeper into God’s Word, “building on the foundations” we have laid on previous occasions.  After five days of teaching, we hope to have the opportunity to go back with some of the H. to the area where they live.

Please Pray for:

~ Safety in travel (Leaving Aug. 1; scheduled to arrive back Aug. 12.)

~ Clear communication as we teach

~ Understanding for the believers as they learn and grow together

~ Good health

~ As always, for Cherri as she takes care of things at home

June's Consultant Visit to the Philippines
Thank you for praying! Everything went very well.  Besides meeting together with one of our ministry teams off-site, I was able to fly by helicopter to three different locations in the northernmost province in order to encourage our teams on-site. In one village, I witnessed the tremendous effort that goes into moving into a remote location. In another, we talked through the processes and planning that needs to go into teaching a people group new to the message of the Bible. In the last village, I was thrilled to hear that, since my last visit there, small steps forward have been taken by potential church leaders of a developing church.

It was a joy to hear of the amazing transformations taking place in people’s hearts as they come to grasp the significance of the Good News we share! Such was the case with Dini (not her real name). She has a dozen children by various relationships. Her current husband is an abusive alcoholic. Dini now has a clear understanding of what Jesus Christ has done for her, and every day she gathers her children and grandchildren around to explain God's Word to them. On the other hand, we also saw and empathized with our patient coworkers in another place where lack of understanding, like chains of darkness, still hold people captive.
God's Word still changes lives.

From the Jungle to the Modern City-country of Singapore!
Traveling on to Singapore, it was a special joy to meet again with our long serving NTMS board there and discuss possibilities for future development. Although we found no immediate solutions, our sharing and prayer times were truly precious and encouraging to all. I was delighted to meet with a young Singaporean couple, Reuel and Gracia Yeow, who are planning on joining Ethnos360 Aviation program soon! They will be going to the U.S. next month to begin Ethnos360 Bible Institute.

Reuel and Garcia and their little toddler (can you find him?) with Ler Wee Meng and Fong Jones (from NTMS Board).

Another highlight (and huge challenge!) from my time in Singapore was visiting the largest migrant worker dormitory in Singapore. It hosts men from the countries in that region including India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Myanmar, China, Cambodia, Indonesia and the Philippines. The dormitory buildings have a capacity for 25,000 men, but at the time of my visit it had around 21,500 men. There is a small Christian work there which was begun by my close friend, and we are wondering if and how we might be able to have an impact with this diverse group of people.

Talking with some Indian migrant workers as they rest from their hard day of labor.
With my close friend Samuel (far right) who started a ministry with the workers, and two other believers who also have a heart to reach the thousands of workers.

Much to thank God for!

~ Thank you, God, for your love for people of all nations, languages and ethnicity.

~ Thank you, God, for every effort of your people to share your love with others.

~ Thank you, God, for all who are joining hands with us as we continue to serve on your behalf in many different settings.

With love and gratefulness for your partnership and generous support,
