Fully-Funded Faculty Development Seminar for Community College & MSI Faculty
INDIA: As towns grow into cities and as cities morph into megacities, what can be done to ensure that demands for quality economic opportunities and decent standards of living are balanced against increased pressures on the environment, energy resources, and threatened cultural sites and traditions?
To support community colleges and minority-serving institutions, CAORC offers fully-funded overseas seminars that help faculty and administrators gain the requisite first-hand experience needed to develop and improve international curriculum development, publications, public engagement, and/or digital humanities projects.
Exploring Urban Sustainability through India's Cities
Seminar: Dec 26, 2019 – Jan 10, 2020 Locations: Delhi, Jaipur, and Lucknow Application Deadline: September 16, 2019
The 2019 award program funds participation in a two-week capacity building workshop in India that will include stays in the cities of New Delhi, Jaipur, and Lucknow.
Round-trip travel, accommodations, and meals will be provided for the seminar.
Follow-up Research Funding
AIIS will be offering $5,000 to an alumnus of the India faculty development seminar for a summer project in India to carry out follow-up research that would result in publications, public engagement, curriculum development and/or digital humanities projects. Those interested will be asked to submit proposals for their projects by April 15, 2020 for funding for summer 2020.
