Hello Everyone,

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer.

The club has a few announcements to make.  Many of you probably saw the results on Facebook of the elections we had in the spring.  The president’s position has been filled by Mike Zilm (the person writing this e-mail) and the Vice-president’s position has been filled by Roger Saheim.  I’ve been the Lake George trail master for the past 13 years and the Executive Director for the past 6+ years.  Roger has held various positions in the past and is one of the Lake Luzerne trail masters serving the Hudson River/Buttermilk side of the trail system.  We want to thank Bob Grant for his years of service as president and Bob will remain an active member of the club serving on the board of directors.

Our treasurer Mark McLain has decided to resign after being a life-long member of the club and serving as treasurer for the past 18+ years.  Mark’s unwavering commitment to the club was a huge asset and will be greatly missed.  Mark wore a lot of hat’s in his role as treasurer which included managing the club’s expenses, putting up and taking trail signs down each year, entering groomer logs into the NYS system, handling club memberships, mailing out vouchers, working with landowners and municipalities, etc..  I'm sure I missed a few things.  We can’t thank Mark enough for all he has done for the club.  Filling his shoes will be a challenge for sure.

Mark’s position has been filled by Denise Kinns from Queensbury.  Denise was appointed by the board of directors.  She and her husband Jim moved to the area a few years ago, and are life-long die hard snowmobilers.  Denise is a retired bookkeeper that brings a tremendous amount of experience to the club and we look forward to working with her.

Our interim Secretary, Dawn Grant, has decided to step down due to other commitments.  Dawn filled the position on what was supposed to be a temporary basis but she did such a good job we didn’t want her to leave!  Thanks Dawn, you will be missed.  So, we will be looking for someone to fill that position.  If anyone is interested, please contact us by responding to this e-mail or sending us a message through Facebook.

VouchersWe highly encourage people to get their own vouchers on-line.  Mailing in your application with a check can still be done to get a voucher but it adds more work for our club officers, especially since Mark will no longer be handling that task.  Having said that, please don’t mail anything to Mark’s house and/or call him looking for a last-minute voucher.  The club’s mailing address is P.O. Box 258, Lake Luzerne, NY 12846.

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to e-mail me at mzilm11@gmail.com

Thanks,
Mike Zilm
SWSC - President
