The Regional Transit Authority of Southeast Michigan (RTA) is in the process of updating its current Regional Master Transit Plan for Southeast Michigan (2016).   This updated plan provides a fresh mobility vision for the people of Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw and Wayne Counties.

Required by state statute, the mobility vision will identify and help guide future public mobility investment decisions for years to come.   This plan update also builds on the tremendous amount of feedback provided to the RTA from the elected leadership across the region, stakeholders and advocacy groups, users of the existing mobility services, and the public during RTA planning efforts conducted in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.

Help define the future of public mobility for Southeast Michigan

The RTA needs your help to better understand people's preferences in moving across Southeast Michigan using public transit and other mobility options that either exist today or that you would like to see implemented in the region in the future.   The engagement tool asks for your input on future mobility priorities and it also allows you to share with the RTA where you would like to take transit and/or other mobility services in the future.  Input received will help the RTA update its Regional Master Transit Plan for Southeast Michigan, as well help the RTA better coordinate with our regional public transit providers partners.

“The RTA has received a tremendous amount of feedback since the last Regional Master Transit Plan was adopted in 2016.  The RTA also understands the mobility discussion is rapidly evolving.  How people desire to access their jobs, medical appointments and other needs, the airport and other transportation modes is evolving rapidly.   We understand that having more mobility options is a key to our region’s economic health,” said Matt Webb, RTA General Manager. “The people of Southeast Michigan ultimately will define what level of mobility we have across the region; thus, it is necessary to hear from all residents early in the planning process who want to be a part of shaping the future of public mobility”

Citizens are asked to provide their input by clicking https://semirtamasterplan.metroquest.com/ or you can contact the RTA at input@rtamichigan.org or 313-402-1029 to request a copy of the engagement tool in another format.
