On Tuesday, June 25th, we joined the community of Mwandimu in Kwale, a coastal county of Kenya, to celebrate the completion of brand-new buildings! Other neighboring schools and community leaders joined as well. 


The school children danced and shared poems and sang songs of gratitude.  We were overwhelmed by their praises and returned all the glory to God who had put a burden on our hearts to assist this one community. 

The brand-new school will not just benefit the nearly 100 children that we sponsor in the village but the entire school population! Here is some of what the Headmaster of the school, Chiboya Mwainzi, had to say:

”Tumaini has brought Tumaini in Mwandimu.  The project has given me confidence to do my job..the students and teachers have confidence in themselves too.  We (teachers) can have longer contact hours with students now to achieve better results.  We are no longer a laughingstock."

We are truly grateful to two families and a foundation that played a key role in raising the funds to construct this school.  Through your generosity the transformation of this school and the entire village has begun.  It is hard to capture the mood of the day, but we were truly honored to see the smiles and tears on the faces of the people of Mwandimu.
