Howdy, Austin!
If you can believe it, our revamped newsletter is already two months old. So, I figured this was the perfect opportunity for me to formally introduce myself.
I’m Sierra, your local contributor and writer of the Austin Fitt Weekly. I’m a Texan by birth, but I made it to ATX as fast as I could. You can catch me at Black Swan Yoga any night of the week and out trail running or swimming at the greenbelt on the weekends. Oh, and I’m obsessed with poke and smoothies, so you can always count on me for a trendy or tasty recommendation as well! Speaking of, here’s this week’s news from the Austin health and fitness scene.

☀️ Sweets And Sunshine
Summertime’s certainly sweeter on a patio, and lucky for us, East Austin vegan bake shop Capital City Bakery has opened up a new outside bar area! Grab some friends and try out a few of their favorites like the (100% vegan) sausage, cheese, and jalapeño kolache or a homemade wildberry pop tart and enjoy the new outdoor space this weekend!

🍕 A New Plant-Based Pie
Calling all pizza fans! Plant-based eatery Counter Culture introduced a new menu item this month: Buffalo Cauliflower Pizza! Turn the heat up with this delicious combination, or try some of their other rotating toppings — you can call or check out the menu board in-store for details. Not sold yet? All of their pizzas are made with organic, whole wheat cornmeal crust or can be made gluten-free for no extra charge!

☕️ Co-workin’ With Coffee
This week, the WeWork building on Barton Springs Road opened a brand new cafe showcasing two local tenants: Tiny House Coffee Roasters and Rosen’s Bagels! With a full espresso bar and delicious healthy options like kimchi lox and a vegan shmear, this spot is serving up sustenance that will power you through even the toughest workday. But we’re not done yet, because there’s another exciting coffee and co-working spot opening in Austin next Thursday: Craftwork Coffee Co.! Located in the Domain Flatiron building, stop by the modern space for a simple but artistically-crafted coffee menu, and feel free to bring along your laptop.

🐾 In Other News
You and your furry best friend can help animal non-profits just by eating out together next week. That’s right — Austin’s first-ever Dog Restaurant Week is happening thanks to Tito’s Vodka’s Vodka For Dog People program. Starting June 22, local restaurants like Irene’s, Revelry on the Boulevard, and Rustic Tap Beer Garden are offering special “Fido-friendly” menus featuring options like pup pastries, beef sliders, and pumpkin truffles for your pal to enjoy on the patio. There will also be special cocktails in it for you, so cheers to fun and philanthropy!
