Friends of Main Street would like to thank all of the residents and businesses that have donated to our Spring 2019 Appeal! We are beyond grateful for your support of us and the the work we do in town! Many Thanks!!
********************************************************************************* Tonight!! Too hot to cook! The Winsted United Methodist Church at 630 Main St. will be having a Lasagna Dinner tonight, July 18 at 6 p.m. The menu consists of Meat Lasagna or Veggie Lasagna, or half meat and have veggie, Bread, Salad, Beverage, and Desserts. Adults $12.00 and kids under 12 are $6.
Reservations are advised by calling 860-379-6386 or 860-238-7536. You can eat in, take out, or have delivered in the Winsted area. If you would like to donate non perishable items to our food pantry, it would be appreciated.

CT Trail Census
Saturday, July 20 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.,volunteers needed to join Torrington Trails Network and Winsted Trails as we perform the annual Sue Grossman Still River Greenway Trail Census.
Meet at the Greenwoods Avenue parking lot in Burrville and volunteers will be sent to designated census spots from there.
Come on down to help with the counting, or walk the trail to be counted and tell our volunteers why trails are important to you.

****************** ****************** You heard it here first! Paving planned for Main Street and Coe Street is set to begin Aug. 13 by the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT). The project will proceed in phases. The first phase, including the replacement of catch basin tops, is currently underway. The next two phases will include: Milling which includes the removal of the surface layer of asphalt. This work is scheduled for Aug. 13 through Aug. 23. Paving which includes adding a new top layer of asphalt. This work is scheduled for Aug. 25 through Sept. 3. Striping the pavement for parking spaces and crosswalks will be completed shortly after the milling and paving are completed. This road improvement work will be performed in the overnight hours from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Please note that it is likely the schedule may vary due to weather between now and when the work is scheduled to begin. Updates will be provided as received from the DOT.
Residents and businesses should be advised that despite the work occurring during the evening hours, considerable disruptions are expected during this time. Additionally, parking on Main Street will be restricted during the times that work is being performed. Please expect noise and a significant amount of truck traffic associated with the work. Folks are encouraged to plan for these inconveniences now.
