Tri-Cities Literacy News for Summer 2019

The Velocity of Being

One of my friends suggested that I read a book called The Velocity of Being by Maria Papova. It is a collection of letters by many different individuals about the ways in which reading books has affected them. There are letters from authors, musicians, actors, and a wide variety of other contributors. Each letter is accompanied by an illustration. I just finished reading it and it is absolutely worth the read. It is available at all 3 of our libraries so please take a look at it! I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

Some Little Libraries are Back Up!!!

I'm very happy to report that a few of the little libraries that were burnt down in the spring are back up and running!! Thanks to the amazing community, the City of Port Coquitlam, the City of Coquitlam, Canstar Restorations and some pretty awesome stewards who were not going to let a couple of kids ruin such a wonderful project.  Canstar built 5 libraries and collected boxes of books for the libraries as well. We are one heck of a community!!

Terry Fox Library is on the Move!!
