This is the first edition of our new reporting format. From now on, we will be providing our Security of Supply update weekly on a Thursday. The revised formatted newsletter will contain:
Electricity Risk Meters
NZ Hydro Risk Curves (from 1 August to be called Electricity Risk Curves)
brief narrative on the current situation and
link to the more comprehensive security of supply data on the Transpower website.

Current Situation:
Storage in both the North and South Island have increased over the last week, with South Island storage now at 121% of average, and North Island at 94% of average.
In case you missed it:
We’ll be introducing the changes from our revised Security of Supply Forecasting and Information Policy on 1 August. The policy relates to the operational management of Security of Supply and the key change is the inclusion of contingent storage for risk analysis.
