Weekly Summary as at: 17 July 2019
Welcome to our new Security of Supply Weekly Summary.

This is the first edition of our new reporting format. From now on, we will be providing our Security of Supply update weekly on a Thursday. The revised formatted newsletter will contain:
  • Electricity Risk Meters
  • NZ Hydro Risk Curves (from 1 August to be called Electricity Risk Curves)
  • brief narrative on the current situation and
  • link to the more comprehensive security of supply data on the Transpower website.
We're keen to hear what you think of the new format as we work through this transition. Please send your feedback to bennet.tucker@transpower.co.nz

Current Situation:

Storage in both the North and South Island have increased over the last week, with South Island storage now at 121% of average, and North Island at 94% of average.

In case you missed it:

We’ll be introducing the changes from our revised Security of Supply Forecasting and Information Policy on 1 August. The policy relates to the operational management of Security of Supply and the key change is the inclusion of contingent storage for risk analysis.
