July @ The Olive Tree

Is that the summer I see?
The warmer weather is certainly here, maybe just not a regular as we would like. That being said our garden is getting regular use as people sit and relax in the fresh Surrey air and we have plenty of new things for you to try.

New exciting dishes to tantalise the taste buds.

We think you'll agree the descriptions speak for themselves.

Goan monkfish & prawn curry with sticky rice, fennel pakoras & poppadoms

Slow braised pork belly, fondant potato, cabbage, roasted carrots, pickled apple

Smoked peppered mackerel with with watercress, pickled beetroot, horseradish cream and sourdough crisp
Looking for something lighter on a warm summer day?
Fried Tofu with crispy seaweed, sautéed potatoes & pea, broad bean & courgette fricassee

Chargrilled chicken Caesar: baby gem, bacon crumb, herb croutons, parmesan, anchovies

Salt baked beetroot: Pickled black radish, cherry tomatoes, cream cheese, rocket & watercress, toasted hazelnuts & gremolata

What's more these dishes are available on Sundays as an alternative to roast during the summer months.

Or of course we have the special board!
A couple of recent examples

Stone bass with herbed potato, creamed leeks and crispy shallots

Harissa spiced lamb with falafel, rainbow chard & aubergine

Something special to wash it down with!

A new wine list

After considerable "research" by Dave and I, solely for your benefit, we think we have come up with a new wine list to be proud of. Your old favourites like the Picpoul and Spy Valley Saunvignon Blanc are still there, but we have added some other exciting and well priced wines.
For example we have chosen a producer whose vines sit just yards outside the Chateauneuf Du Pape region sharing the same sun and soil but without the premium price. Our new Champagne is from Palmer and Co, whom most of you will never have heard of, but I can guarantee you will have drunk under other well known labels!

To further enhance your experience the introduction of a Verre Du Vin allows us to serve far more wines by the glass.

Make sure you are bang on trend with our Tornatore Bianco, made with grapes grown in the famous vineyards on Mout Etna. Fresh, mineral and delightfully moreish.

Or try our new super Tuscan "Rigogolo" which comes from a joint venture with Italy and France's finest producers.  Think first growth Bordeaux meets Chianti and you wont be far wrong.

Fitz is the rebel of English Sparkling wine.  Its fun, fruity and very easy to drink.  You don’t need to be celebrating to order.....
We look forward to welcoming you soon, the end of the day you are what makes The Olive Tree such a great place to be and it's a pleasure to have you here.
