This weekend it's gonna hit 100 degrees here in New York City, and I'm lobbying hard to get my husband to hit up the public pool with me. Sure, the locker rooms look like a prison, the T-shirt you wear can't be any other color but white, and you need to bring your own lock. But it's free. And reminds me of my childhood. And an amenity for living where I do. What's an activity where you live that you've been putting off or not taking advantage of? Make it happen this summer!

I had no business taking on another commitment. Like I got a baby shower invite and immediately declined it. But all bets are off when it’s my close friends. One friend is getting married, and the other two are moving away. Even though I’m up to my eyeballs with things to do, I couldn’t let an opportunity go to hang out together just one last time. So I said eff it, I’m gonna plan us a bachelorette outing. Then I got carried away with creative ideas (Custom leather luggage tags! Matching masks!), and none of them actually came together. But I realized the extras I planned didn’t really matter at all. Because everyone had a blast just spending the day together.
