The Job Search Game:
WHAT’S BASEBALL GOT TO DO WITH IT?

The objectives in any baseball game, job search are to:

  •  Inning 1.  Stand out (Don’t strike out!)
  •  Inning 2.  Leave a memorable & lasting impression (on the crowd)
  •  Inning 3.  Show your uniqueness (your “at bat” theme)
  •  Inning 4.  Know your value (batting average, ERA)
  •  Inning 5.  Show your growth (come up from the minor leagues!)
  •  Inning 6.  Show your creativity in problem-solving (conversation on the mound)
  •  Inning 7.  Show your curiosity (question the umpire)
  • 7th Inning stretch. Take a break to sing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame
  •  Inning 8.  Show your agility (steal second!)
  •  Inning 9.  Show your adaptability (switch hit!)
  • Extra Innings: Show your Decency/Integrity/Kindness/Humor*  (on and off the field!)
Hank Aaron hit many of these pitches by remaining true to himself. He played baseball because he loved the game, not to become famous or to compete against Babe Ruth. He played his game.

A game where you can't steal home by keeping both feet on third base.
A game where "a swing and a miss" doesn't stop you from going after that next fastball.
A game where you have to move forward to score.

Hank may have struck out 1330 times, but we remember him best for hitting 745 homeruns.

How are you playing the Game? How many more homeruns are in you?

Hank knew how to play the game. Be like Hank.

Join Andrew Manns and Nancy Stek for a morning of exploring the practice of Self-Awareness and become better players at THE  JOB SEARCH GAME!
