Welcome to the July 2019 PACT Newsletter

Please can you note that the PACT Office is open Monday to Friday between 09.00 and 15.30. If you need to contact us about any trips, events, fundraising, booking rooms at PACT House etc. then please either telephone us on 0114 272 4570 (there is an answering machine) or at our new email address which is scn-tr.pact@nhs.net.

If any of your postal address or contact details are incorrect, please contact the PACT Office so that we can amend our records. 

Update on Past Events
Sundown Adventureland
Over 120 people went to Sundown Adventureland on the 18th May. The weather brightened up for us and everyone had a wonderful time. Joan and Keith, as always, provided lovely packed lunches for each family and an ice cream was bought for each child as an extra treat. We are very grateful to Joan, Keith, their friends and family for their generosity and kindness in donating the food, drinks and ice cream.

Charity Ball
Our annual charity ball took place on the 18th May at the Doubletree by Hilton in Sheffield. Thank you so much to everyone who came along, it was a great evening and over £14,000 was raised for PACT. We are very grateful to John Morgan from the Sheffield Auction Gallery for being our Master of Ceremonies and we also want to thank everyone who helped on the night, it was a huge success.

As we were impressed with this year’s venue, next year’s ball has been arranged to take place at the same place on the 16th May 2020. We will start to take bookings from 1st September for tables/tickets so please put this date in your diary.

AGM
We have just had our Annual General Meeting on the 11th July at The Quadrant in Sheffield. Hart Shaw presented our accounts for the financial year up to the 31st March 2019 which show that the PACT bank balances are in a healthy position so we can continue to provide support for many years to come.

Annual Trip to Drayton Manor
For our trip this year we are going to Drayton Manor. The trip is on Sunday 1st September. If you wish to go on the trip you must complete the Disclaimer letter which is also the booking form. Please return the form to the PACT office with a £5 per person deposit which will be refunded on the day (we will accept cash or cheques for the deposits).

Please make sure that you complete the form with the names of the adults and children going and the age that the children will be on the day of the trip. You do not need to pay a deposit for any children who will be aged under 2 on the day of the trip, but you must include them on the form. 

Please return the completed form and deposits to the PACT Office before the 1st August as Drayton Manor require final figures and payment in time for us to distribute the tickets. As usual, families can either make their own way there or go on the coaches from the hospital. Please confirm on the form if you wish to go on the coaches so that we can ensure there are enough seats.

Please note that unless we receive your signed and completed booking form and deposits in the office by the 1st August, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to go on the trip

Information and Dates for your Diary
Christmas Cards
These are on order and will shortly be on display in the office and on the PACT website. This year we have several new designs which are priced between £2.00 and £4.00 for a pack of 10 cards. As usual, we also have some of last year’s designs left and these will be available at reduced prices. We will not be putting the old designs on the website as we only have limited numbers of each left.

If anyone is interested in taking some cards on a sale or return basis, please contact the PACT Office and we will get them ready for you to collect. 

Christmas Party and Bowling
The date for the party will be Sunday 1st December and there will also be bowling for the teenagers and siblings on 29th November. Full details will be in the October newsletter.

PACT Outing to Drayton Manor on Sunday 1st September 2019
The PACT Committee really do value your attendance at the outings organised by PACT. However it must be fully understood that PACT will not accept any liability or responsibility whatsoever for any injury, loss or damage caused to any person, persons, possessions or property while taking part in this outing and that at all times Parents/Carers will be wholly responsible for their own children.
