Dear <<First Name>>

Thanks for opening this message, it's great to have you along as we keep on keeping on. (And special thanks if you've found time to open this message if you're in the midst of school holidays...)

We're over the moon to share two major bits of news this month - we're running Making It Possible again AND we have two new Raising Film ribbon awards to tell you about!

Our Dates For Your Diary are a little slimmed down this month as we hope you'll be managing to find some time to enjoy good weather and good times whereever in the world August finds you.

Until next month...

NEWS & OPPORTUNITIES
Screenskills Making it Possible 2019 in association with Raising Films

We're delighted to be re-running our popular Making It Possible personal and career development days. Making It Possible 2019 is supported by ScreenSkills using National Lottery funds awarded by the British Film Institute (BFI) as part of the Future Film Skills programme.

They take place this October and November in London, Leeds, Cardiff (there will be free crèche places) and, for the first time, online!

Making It Possible empowers participants to focus on individual goals, plan a route to achieving them and address the specific barriers and challenges they face.

Making It Possible is specifically aimed at people who are on maternity/paternity leave or currently working but concerned they will stagnate in their career due to juggling work with parenting and/or caring demands. Making It Possible is also suitable for those who are fired up to advance their career but are struggling to actually make it happen.

Applications open on Wednesday 14 August at 12pm.
Deadline for applications is Monday 16 September at 9am.
Successful applicants contacted by close of play on Friday 20 September.

You're receiving this news as a subscriber to our mailing list and Making It Possible will officially launch on Wednesday 14 August. Check our website from this date for full information and the online application form.
And the Raising Film ribbon goes to...

We are super thrilled to share news that we have awarded our ribbon to two very deserving recipients..
Behind the scenes BIFA has adopted a number of practices that mean current employees can work flexibly around caring obligations. While all new employees are offered flexible working patterns and BIFA also covers the additional costs of childcare for work away from home.

Find out more about the work of BIFA and how you can get involved.

Our other awardee is Bridge + Tunnel, a BAFTA-nominated media production company. Here at Raising Films we've known about the company's endeavours in taking into account the needs of parents and carers for a while so we're delighted to be able to officially recognise and acknowledge their approach.

And you can read more about that approach in this story on our website.
