General Assembly/ West Virginia Missions Trip Reports
July 28
On Sunday, July 28 at 10:00am (between the 1st and 2nd worship services) Pastor Dan will be giving a report on the General Assembly meetings of our denomination, the Presbyterian Church in America. Also during that time, the team of Oakwood members who went to West Virginia earlier this summer to serve the poor will be giving a brief report on their work.

We will be continuing our three-part series on work with our second breakfast on Saturday, July 27! The time will be divided up into breakfast and fellowship time from 8:00am - 8:45am followed by a teaching by Mike Sunderland and time for discussion from 8:45am - 10:00am. Prayer for West Africa
Another Sunday Prayer Option

There is an opportunity to pray for West Africa for the rest of the Summer during the Sunday school hour at 10:00 AM in the Stepping Stones classroom (far right-hand corner classroom) for any and all who would like to join us in praying for W. African Missions and the Weaver family. We'll take a few minutes to share updates and prayer requests and then we'll pray until 11:00 AM. Blood Emergency
We ask for your help in a time of emergency need. Right now, blood donations are leaving the shelves faster than they're coming in. That means patients are at risk for delayed surgeries or treatment. Don't wait until the letters A, B and O are completely missing from the hospital blood bank shelves, the time to act is now. Moving Help Needed!
For Three Oakwood Families who are Moving Next Week
July 25 and 27
We have several opportunities in the next few days to help some families in our church pack, move and clean. Since there are three pretty close together, please consider helping in some way. This is a great way to show our love to our brothers and sisters and to get to know the others who are helping as well.
Tania Thompson and her boys will be moving to the Pittsburgh area on Thursday, July 25, 3:00 PM at 509 Orlando Ave, State College. We will be loading a 26 foot truck. On Monday and Tuesday of the following week, they will be finishing up and cleaning the house as well. As many people as can help would be great
Denny Wise will be moving to Chattanooga, TN on Saturday, July 27 starting after the men’s breakfast at about 10:30 AM at 430 North Allegheny Street, Bellefonte, we will be loading a 15 foot truck. Denny would like to have 6 people to help and if more can help, that would be great
Kaylah and Caleb Olshefsky will be moving across town on Saturday, July 27 starting at 9:00 AM, moving from 120 Longmeadow Lane, State College to 2004 Chelsea Lane, State College. There will be a pizza lunch after the work is done for those helping. As many people as can help would be great

Join us on Sunday morning for a time of prayer from 10:15 am - 11:00 am in the Adult Classroom. Romans 12:12 tells us to, “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” Our desire is that we may come together in prayer because not only are we commanded to pray, but we know that God acts when we do. Oakwood Softball

Let's.....play ball! If you like fun and fellowship, come out and play softball with other Oakwood folks! You are welcome to invite friends (they don't have to be Oakwood friends) as well. We have a game every Monday night at 6:30pm. Our next softball game is Monday, July 22 vs. Grace Lutheran at Spring Creek 1, at 6:30 pm. Warm-up starts around 6:00 pm. Oakwood Night at the
State College Spikes!

Join us for a Youth & Family Night at the State College Spikes on Friday, August 9. The game starts at 7:05 pm and we've reserved space in the Pepsi Picnic Pavilion. The event includes an all-you-can-eat picnic (hot dogs, burgers, BBQ chicken, chips, beans, potato salad, cookies, soda-pop and water) between 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, a game ticket, and for those 12 and under a pass for Ike's Kid Zone.The church is covering most of the cost, so the price for youth and adults is $15 (actual cost $24) and for children 12 and under it's $10 (actual cost $17).
