What we're reading this week

Paola: Artificial intelligence experts are trying to get ahead of "deep fake news" that may mislead voters during the 2020 presidential campaign.

Kay: I'm loving these unique open source typefaces that would be great for a special project or series.

Miranda: An interesting analysis on how robo-journalism could help, rather than replace human journalists.

Ben: Do you like making square-binned county maps of states, but don't like doing the layout by hand? Graham McNeill has made an Observable workbook that lets you play around with different packing algorithms

Josh: You’ve probably enjoyed aging yourself 40+ years with the hot app of the week, FaceApp. However, it may have a more insidious purpose than just adding a few decades to your photographs. The Washington Post put together a list of 5 questions to ask yourself before installing any app that wants access to your personal information.

Inndy: Sometimes I dream of being a spaceship that holds a civilization. What would it be like, to have generation after generation grow and change within me?
