Spring Creek – Louisa County Sheriff’s Office

Spring Creek will partner with the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office to host our first:
Community Unity Day!!!
Sunday, August 4, 2019
 1pm to 5pm

We have a fun filled event planned ........

Come out and enjoy 99.7 CYK broadcasting live from the Golf Club.  There will be fire trucks, squad cars, and K-9 demonstrations for kids of all ages to enjoy.

The Tavern will have food for purchase available during the event.

A vendor fair in the Celebration Room is planned and Blue Mountain Brewery and Fifty Third Vineyard will be on hand selling beverages for those 21 years of age or older!

Pony Rides ($5), a Bounce House and a 50’ Slip n’ Slide will also be featured.

This is an exciting opportunity for Spring Creek and local law enforcement to come together and build a solid foundation that supports safety and keeping our community informed and hopefully crime free!  Our partnership with the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office as well as knowing our neighbors both old and new will encourage a stronger Neighborhood Watch program and many other benefits as well.

Mark your calendars and come out to the Golf Club and Tavern on August 4th from 1pm to 5pm!!!!

COMMUNITY CLUB SUMMER SCHEDULE

The Spring Creek Community Club will not hold its monthly meeting during August.  We will resume the regular meeting schedule (first Tuesday of each month) on September 3 at the Sports Club.  The Community Club will continue the collection of cardboard for the Louisa County Resource Council during the summer, and we encourage all to drop off cardboard at the shed to the right of the Sports Club.  As a reminder, we collect cardboard, not plastic, styrofoam, wood pallets, sewing machines, etc.  The Resource Council bales and sells the cardboard (that's why we can't take the other stuff!), generating much-needed funds to support its operations.

The Community Club is a voluntary organization open to all Spring Creek residents.  The Club is a great opportunity to meet neighbors and to learn more about happenings in Spring Creek and the surrounding area.  The Club focuses on educational and outreach opportunities, with several social events, as well.  This year, we have had speakers at most meetings, and sponsored the activities around Heart Health month in February and a private tour of Highlands in May. Our local County Supervisor, Bob Babyok, provides an update on current developments in Louisa County at each meeting.  Club dues are $5 per person per year.  All are welcome, and we look forward to seeing you at the September meeting.

There are several volunteer opportunities within the Club.  The cardboard crew can use help loading the Resource Council truck.  The work is not difficult, takes a half hour or less, and is always completed in a light-hearted manner.  The truck comes every other Thursday at 9 am.  The August dates are  the 8th and 22nd.  We could also use volunteers to assist in picking up cardboard from the Tavern and taking it to the collection shed.  For more information, please contact Dennis Barnett at
denbar22@gmail.com.

The Club will also be electing a new slate of officers in the Fall.  The elected positions are President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.  The term is for one year starting in January 2020.  There is also a need for new members and in some cases chairpersons of the Club's committees (Education, Social, Community Decor, Outreach and Community Projects).  These are easily manageable positions that give an opportunity to be involved in activities at Spring Creek.  While we encourage a flood of volunteers, if there are none, our President will come looking for you!  To volunteer, or for more information, contact communityclub@springcreekliving.com
