Dr. Frank Prosek
It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Dr. Frank Prosek. Frank passed away unexpectedly on July 2, 2019.

Frank was born in Czechoslovakia where he worked as a doctor and earned a doctorate of philosophy in zoonosis. He was instrumental in discovering Toxoplasmosis in pigs. He also served as a mentor to countless graduate degree students.

Facing the oppression of a communist government, Frank bravely escaped in search of a better life for him and his family. At the age of 40, he began his new life in the United States with only two suitcases. Despite the obstacles he had faced he went on to become well respected veterinarian. Dr Prosek was the owner at various times of English Plaza Animal Hospital, Southland Pet Clinic and Naranja Animal Clinic.

What you may not know about Frank, is that he was also a builder. While he did not build mansions, he built compounds and fortresses that his son says will last 1000 years.

Frank is survived by his loving family, including his best friend and son Dr. Robert Prosek, his two daughters, his wife Gail and his grandsons. He is also survived by his many friends and colleagues.  The funeral will take place on July 19 and a celebration of his life will occur after. The service is open to the general public and anyone who like to pay their respects to Dr. Frank and his family.
